Senior Project Youth Worker       Salary up to £27,000

No weekend or evening work 35 hours per week Monday to Friday

We are looking for someone who will enjoy the daily interaction of working face to face with young people. You will run your own sessions supporting young people who need the setting and activities an inclusion project such as ours can provide. You will take a lead in ensuring that the young people are able to achieve accredited outcomes.  

You will enjoy the challenge of working with young people both in-house and at outdoor settings. You and your support worker will help them achieve awards in a group with 10 or less young people. Delivering high quality work contributing to the five ECM outcomes you must be able to motivate and support young people.

The young people we work with can be challenging so you will have experience of working with young people 9-16 and running your own programmes. You will preferably have experience or be capable of delivering and moderating Asdan or similar courses.

You must also be able to demonstrate how you can contribute to the development and delivery of team/group projects. This is a job where you can make a real difference to the lives of the young people you support.



Role: As a member of the Choysez team

  • To plan, deliver and evaluate a programme of fun and challenging activities that will enhance the self esteem and confidence of the young people on the programme
  • Develop the young people to form their own groups to enable them to apply for their own funding for activities
  • Assist the young people in the achievement of their Asdan Awards
  • Attend team meetings
  • Liaise with other groups in the community to help launch community projects and challenges
  • Deliver quality work contributing to the five ECM outcomes
  • Direct clearly the duties of support workers
  • Establish safe working practices in accordance with Choysez policies and in particular to ensure that all aspects of Health and Safety, Child Protection and Equal Opportunities are adhered to
  • Any other duties as requested by the Operations Manager/Project Worker Coordinator

To develop group work and the curriculum in agreement with the Centre and Operations Managers in line with local and national priorities.  To translate this into a range of effective and efficient provision via:

  • Development, marketing and co-ordination of course provision
  • Development and promotion of the facilities at Choysez
  • Face-to-face work with young people in a variety of settings

As a member of Choysez staff to:

  • Introduce and monitor quality standard for all group provision
  • Attend and participate in staff development and training sessions
  • Represent Choysez at a range of meetings and training events
