Choysez has been in operation since 1998. We are here to support the needs of the young people. We seek to raise aspirations of and give young people the confidence to make the right choices in life.

By using a blend of indoor and outdoor and activity based work we give young people the opportunity to learn at a pace and in an environment suited to their needs.

Based in Wansbeck we work with young people from all over Northumberland.

No day is the same at Choysez and the young people all work towards nationally recognised Youth Awards. Some of these go right up to GCSE and NVQ 1 equivalent.

At Choysez the emphasis is on fun and participation. We like to include young people and that’s why they get to plan their own activities. Young people at Choysez get to benefit from challenging activities from sailing to rock climbing and regular visits to museums and galleries. All the young people get to take part in community challenges.

One mum told us “It feels like I have my son back” after he attended Choysez. Whilst one of the young people told us “Before Choysez I spent most of my days skiving school and getting into trouble, I want to move on from that now”. For those who have left school we show them how they can regain control of their life and make positive choices in life.

Choysez supports young people we show it proves it is never too late to try or start again. Eight years of results shows us we are right to raise the aspirations of young people, and support them in making their own positive choices in life.
